Show this to a friend racing this fall!

For most of our team at Spewak Training, we are approaching the last month of training for the half and full marathon distances. For some it’s their first attempt at the distance and for others it’s a chance to chase a new PR or BQ. Regardless of ability, everyone has a goal!  The last month of training is incredibly difficult mentally and physically. This is the part of training where you start to question whether signing up for this race was a good idea or not. It’s easy to look ahead and pick a new race to conquer. And you know what, everyone goes through this!  But don’t for a second buy into what your head is saying! This is supposed to be the hardest part of training just like the last 6 miles of a marathon. Everyone considers walking or letting up when it gets hard. However, special athletes overcome these thoughts and fatigue because they have prepared for the challenge in training!  The most important thing you can do right now is to stay focused and remember your coach isn’t throwing you long runs and workouts just to torture you. This is the part of training where the PRs or made or broken. Stay positive and continue to take things one day at a time. You are not going to regret this level of work when you toe the line tapered and feeling ready to crush your fall race. Good luck!!! *Spewak Training coaches are accepting new clients.
