About Mark Spewak
For over 15 years, I have been a competitive distance runner. It wasn’t until a few years after my collegiate career ended that I realized my passion for coaching. In 2014, I started coaching cross country and track and field at my alma mater, Ladue High School. Shortly after, I started helping runners of all abilities in our community prepare for different running events.
Running has always been an integral part of my life. My passion started early when I went out for cross country in 8th grade. My brother Mike was a successful runner at our high school, and he later went on to run in college. His path inspired me to chase my goals in the sport. I was the third runner on our 2010 Ladue High School Class 3 State Cross Country State Championship team. I went on to run for Bob Hamer at Rider University.
I was lucky enough to work for Big River Running Company from 2012-2016. At Big River, I ran their high school running camps and became well acquainted with the St. Louis running community. Over the last decade, I have still competed at a high level, running personal best times on the roads under the tutelage of Jason Holroyd. My personal running will always be a passion of mine but being able to coach athletes to their highest level is my main priority.
Since 2015, Spewak Training has been home to over 150 athletes from all over the United States. We have helped 50+ athletes qualify for the Boston Marathon, but our work is just beginning. We have an extraordinary team of athletes, coaches, and other professionals in St. Louis who have positively contributed to our success.
