It's about the journey, not the destination!

With the end of 2019 approaching, I do believe it’s important we all take the time to celebrate the progress we have made on and off the roads in this past year. We work extremely hard to perfect our craft in the sport of running. Whether you met your goals or not this year, you owe it to yourself to find your 2019 silver lining.  It’s easy to always want the next big thing in this sport. But I can’t forget how grateful for every healthy racing opportunity I have had in this sport. However, I am equally grateful for the people who have made a positive impact on my running along the way. There is no greater feeling than crossing the line of your goal race and celebrating it with those supported you throughout the entire process.  They say it’s about the journey, not the destination. For any of you resolution folks, I encourage you to have goals with your running but to continue to put just as much effort into your running friendships and relationships in and outside of the sport. For a runner to reach their fullest potential, I believe they need to train in a positive and healthy environment with caring people cheering them on along the way. Fortunately for us, runners are some of the best people around.  With that said, make sure you surround yourself with a group of people who want you to succeed as much as they want to succeed themselves. Find a coach or plan that best fits your life and all of your daily commitments. Finally, continue to remind yourself in 2020 that you GET to run. This is our hobby, not our job. Embrace every healthy step you get in this sport. Best of luck from your friends at Spewak Training!   *Spewak Training coaches are accepting new clients.
